TRAVELWORLD NEW STATE-OF-THE ART MOTORHOME AND DEALERSHIP IS PROGRESSING -
The Travelworld new Showroom and workshop near Stafford is moving on fast with a completion date expected in October 2018.
The aerial photos taken from February till June and photos of the building were taken on Friday 15/06/18 of the site, its coming together very nicely now with:
• The service centre roof fully complete
• Concrete has been poured into the first floor
• Interior and exterior brickwork is complete on the service centre
• The MOT station and ramp foundations were being poured
Travelworld Motorhomes, which began the development of a brand new state-of-the-art Motorhome & Caravan dealership in Stafford at the start of 2018 and announced its relocation and expansion into the new premises later this year, will become one of only three other designated Centers in the world to achieve the status.
Ross Edwards, managing director of Travelworld said: “As you can imagine, this was a big decision for us to make, but it’s simply a continuation of the strategy we have had in the business for the last five years: ‘ever greater ties with our supplier’”.
The strategy within the group is to have strong relationships with its dealers and wherever possible for those dealers to offer their products exclusively. Travelworld who last year celebrated its 40th anniversary, became an exclusive EHG dealer in 2015 and has flourished by focusing and specialising on one supplier.
Ross continued: “Although it is the logical ‘next step’ for us, achieving ERWIN HYMER GROUP status was not made easy. EHG has created a strict set of terms and conditions to qualify for CENTER status, varying from logos to minimum brands in each price segment and Goldschmitt and Rent Easy partnership”.
Travelworld’s new dealership progress report - 8th August
Our monster project has now entered its 5 month and is making superb progress! In recent weeks the service centre’s external cladding and roof sections have been completed. The side and rear sections of the service centre also now features stunning brickwork, this at one stage had 14 brick layers working on it – quite a spectacle I can assure you! We have made sure the whole process has been documented with both a fixed time lapse camera on site and weekly drone shots, these really show how far the build has come. The initial drone shots showed a dark, wet Staffordshire and an empty plot of land, I didn’t stay like this for long with the erection of the full metal skeleton taking a matter of weeks. In the most recent drone images you can see the installation of the showroom glazing that will provide a wealth of light, showcasing our wonderful Erwin Hymer motorhomes. Once completed and entrance doors are fitted, the showroom is then fully sealed allowing for the floor to be poured.
Looking to the near future, internal work will be continued including installation of the elevator and erection of internal offices on the lower and upper floors. The office space will be very much a talking point, with our sales staff and service advisors being located on the showroom floor. This type of layout can be likened to many car dealerships and creates a warm and welcoming front of house feel – we think it will work very well!
With the move ever closer we have arranged weekly tours of the new premises for our staff, both Travelworld’s founder Bob Edwards and Son, Ross have been excited to show the Travelworld team what delights the new dealership has instore for them! From our humble beginnings in Wolverhampton this project has been very close to the Edwards family’s heart with frequent visits from all the family. I a grandchild of Bob have been very excited to see this project evolve from initial plans some 3 years ago to this impressive structure. We are all very excited for the next era in our state-of-the-art dealership and believe it will provide supreme benefits to both our customers and employees!
Travelworld are on the move - 7th November
We have started to move into the new premises this week, it will be a 3 week process and we should be operational by the 3rd December, although to avoid disruption for the sales department they are staying at the Telford site until the 12th of December.
I will be back from uni next weekend and will hopefully get over to the site to take some updated internal photos, I will send these over also!
